a note from kalen....
Hi, I’m Kalen.
Choosing a photographer isn’t really about hours or packages.
It’s about trust... someone who can hold the day gently, bring calm to the chaos, and help everything feel a little more meaningful.
That’s where I come in.
I believe wedding photography is about far more than taking beautiful images. It’s about building a real connection and documenting the heart and soul of your story with honesty and care. Through documentary-style storytelling, my work is rooted in preserving authentic, spontaneous, and often unnoticed moments of connection, the ones that become the most meaningful memories and allow you to truly feel your day again for years to come.
I approach every wedding with deep intention. I take time to know you, understand your vision, and create a space where you feel safe, seen, and fully yourselves, so your photos reflect not just how everything looked, but how it truly felt. Alongside those honest, in-between moments, I also love creating timeless classic editorial portraits and more artistic, expressive imagery, giving you a gallery that feels both enduring and uniquely yours.
Anyone can snap a photo.
But capturing the essence of your story, the fleeting, emotional, beautifully imperfect in-between moments, that’s where the magic lives.
And long after the music fades and the flowers are shriveled, those moments will remain.
That’s why I do this.
To help your memories last generations.
Love,
Kalen

These are our vows to you:
-
We will take time to understand your values and vision.
-
We will document your love beautifully, honestly and authentically.
-
We will capture the in-between, quirky moments that capture human connection: the sporadic laughter, heartfelt hugs, windblown hair, and the tears that unexpectedly trickle down your cheeks.
-
We will capture the moments as they truly are and your love story from the inside out.
-
Everyone has a story, and as your wedding photographer, I will uncover and capture your unique narratives.
-
We’ll create a personalized experience, customizing everything to fit your needs and ensuring you feel at ease every step of the way.
-
It is our goal to curate a light-hearted and natural process, so you can be assured you WILL in fact be comfortable in front of the camera and the final product is distinctly and honestly YOU.
-
We are observant and acute to our surroundings.
-
We step up to guide situations and people naturally when needed, but are also unobtrusive in nature.
-
Whether you need advice on your timeline or input on what jewelry to wear, we've got you. Ask us anything because we are here to make things easy for you.

Wedding Photography
What it feels like to work together
Wedding Planning...
From the moment you book, I’m in your corner—helping shape your timeline, offering thoughtful guidance, smoothing tiny details you didn’t even notice, and yes… kindly wrangling family when it’s time for portraits. My goal is simple: that you feel supported, present, and free to truly enjoy your wedding day instead of managing it.
Taking Photos...
When it comes to taking photos, I keep everything natural and easy. I’ll offer gentle prompts instead of stiff poses, then step back so real moments can unfold. Nothing forced. Nothing overly staged. Just honest emotion and images that bring you right back to how the day felt—not just how it looked.
Behind the Scenes....
Behind the scenes, I stay organized and calm so you don’t have to. Timelines stay on track, family photos stay smooth, and if a little wedding-day curveball appears (they love to), I handle it quietly in the background. I also take on a limited number of weddings each year so every couple receives my full energy, care, and attention—because this work is deeply personal to me.
My Goal....
More than anything, I want working together to make your celebration and full wedding experience feel calmer, easier, and more joyful. And when it’s all over, I want your photographs to feel like stepping back into the moment—again and again, for the rest of your life.
My editing style is timeless, warm, and true to life—designed to honor the moment rather than follow trends. Every image is carefully hand-edited to preserve natural color, soft light, and the honest emotion of the day, so your photographs feel just as meaningful decades from now as they do today. Through thoughtful storytelling, your gallery becomes more than a collection of images—it becomes a living memory you can return to again and again.

ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS
& WHY WE LOVE THEM
Engagement sessions are our chance to slow things down and connect before the wedding whirlwind hits. You’ll get a feel for how I shoot, we’ll build trust, and you’ll get comfortable being yourselves in front of the camera. By the time your wedding day arrives, photos will NOT feel like a performance — they’ll feel second nature. Easy, relaxed, and very much you.

Planning Your Session
MAKE IT A DATE
WHAT TO BRING

WHAT TO WEAR
My number one guiding light for engagement sessions is to think of it as a date. Pick an activity that you actually enjoy doing together. Pack a picnic, take me to your favorite local dive bar or coffee shop. Weaving in the following elements can help make your session more than just a photoshoot.
The Essentials
-
Water (hydrated humans photograph better — science)
-
A light snack, just in case
-
Comfortable walking shoes for easy swaps between locations
-
A jacket, sweater, or layer — practical and photo-friendly
-
Lip balm / makeup touch-ups / hair ties
-
Phone for music
-
Rings and anything meaningful you’d like featured
For Personality and Play
-
Fur babies 🐾 (just double-check they’re allowed at your location)
-
Champagne — we love ending with a little celebratory chaos
-
A blanket to sit on, snuggle into, or toss over shoulders
-
Meaningful props (coffee cups, hats, books, picnic goodies, etc.)
Plan an activity - Movement creates magic. Bring something you genuinely enjoy:
-
A deck of cards or favorite game
-
A picnic
-
Ice cream stop
-
A casual walk-and-talk ritual you already love
If it feels like you, it’ll photograph beautifully.
Optional but encouraged:
-
A second outfit for variety
-
Sunglasses (great for in-between moments)
-
A small towel or blotting paper on warm days
And finally:
-
Bring a sense of openness and a willingness to lean in. The rest, I’ve got!
Engagement sessions are up to one hour. There’s usually time for two different outfits. Here are some styling suggestions to help you plan your looks:
HECK YES: Complementary color schemes, items that are comfortable + easy to move in, flowy skirts or tops that show movement, Something you feel AMAZING wearing - I want you to feel confident and like yourselves!
TRY TO AVOID: Small, intricate, busy patterns, tiny stripes, super wrinkly or linty clothes (the camera sees everything!), big logos and writing on shirts, something that just isn't YOU, something uncomfortable that needs constantly adjusted.
